Running the HerCampus Vcu socials has been one of my favourite tasks while spending my time in college. It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. 

Her Campus’s Impact

Her Campus VCU is part of the influential Her Campus Media network, the #1 online magazine for college women, created by and for ambitious, driven, and creative students. As a woman-run platform, Her Campus champions empowerment and individuality, offering a unique space for female voices to shine. Managing the Pinterest account and contributing to Instagram content for Her Campus VCU, I had the privilege of aligning with this mission by curating and creating relatable, aspirational, and engaging content. This experience taught me the power of understanding your audience, inspiring their goals, and fostering authentic connections—key elements in running successful social media accounts that truly resonate.

Know your audience

Before creating content, it’s crucial to research and understand your target audience’s interests, challenges, and habits. For Her Campus VCU, the audience consisted primarily of college students looking for relatable, engaging, and aesthetically pleasing content.
